Consumer Electronics Robotics & Automation

The consumer electronics industry operates under intense pressure, characterised by short product lifecycles, constant innovation and the demand for flawless execution at scale. Manufacturers work with increasingly smaller, more delicate components and often run multiple product variants on the same production line. Even minor visual imperfections — such as surface marks or slight misalignments — can significantly impact how a product is perceived and reflect on the brand’s quality. That’s why we design automation systems with precision and adaptability — built to handle fine details and meet the demands of modern electronics manufacturing.

With a strong track record in robotic and Special-Purpose Machine (SPM) design, we deliver automation solutions that improve efficiency, enhance quality and reduce costs. From compact wearables to high-volume devices, we build custom, scalable solutions that adapt to evolving product demands.

Precision assembly solutions

We understand what it takes to automate fast, high-volume consumer electronics production — complex assemblies, tight timelines and exacting quality standards — and we design every system with that in mind.

High-speed pick-and-place systems

Consumer electronics manufacturing often involves handling large volumes of small, delicate and irregular components, typically supplied in bulk. Precision, repeatability and cycle time are critical, especially when dealing with miniaturised parts. Our capabilities include:

  • Bulk infeed and separation systems that reliably sort and present components for assembly
  • Singulation mechanisms that isolate individual parts without causing damage or misalignment
  • High-speed pick-and-place operations that deliver consistent positioning, even for flexible or fragile sub-assemblies.

High performance fastening systems

Fastening in electronics automation must deliver structural strength, precise alignment and a clean external finish — often within extremely tight tolerances. We develop fastening systems to meet these demands reliably across a broad range of device designs and materials:

  • Snap-fit assembly for rapid, secure enclosure joining
  • Automated screw driving, using precise torque monitoring to avoid overtightening or under-fastening.
  • Custom joining techniques for components with unique geometries, tight tolerances or visual surface constraints.

In-line testing and quality verification

We build inspection and part verification into every stage of the automation line — not just the end. Our systems apply multiple layers of real-time feedback and validation to maintain quality, reduce rework and ensure full traceability:

  • 2D/3D vision systems confirm part presence, alignment and surface condition
  • Force and torque sensors validate fastening operations
  • Tactile/proximity sensors detect correct part placement
  • Functional testing verifies electrical or mechanical performance
  • Data logging captures results for compliance and diagnostics.

Packaging, sealing and palletising

We design efficient and scalable automation solutions for packaging and shipment — ensuring that your products are securely finished, clearly labelled and ready for distribution. Our systems include:

  • Automated carton erection and sealing for consistent and secure packaging
  • Labelling and scanning for traceability and product Identification
  • Palletising systems for stacking and shipping
  • Integration with MES/logistics for end-to-end visibility.

Automated Assembly Workshops

We run collaborative workshops that bring your engineers together with our automation specialists. The goal is to proactively shape products that are easier to assemble, automate and scale — before production begins. The workshops:

  • Identify features that improve automation fit
  • Reduce manual handling or custom tooling
  • Support lower cost, higher throughput builds.

Arnott’s automated inspection takes the biscuit

We worked with Arnott’s to deliver a high-speed robotic QA system for biscuit packaging, operating at up to 130 packs per minute. Delta robots inspect and fill biscuit cavities precisely, using 2D vision for defect detection and conveyor tracking. Designed for continuous operation and easy cleaning, the system improves product quality, boosts output and reduces manual handling.

FAQs

Yes. We utilise sensitive force and torque monitoring to flag over- or under-tightening, helping to detect misalignments, missing fasteners or faulty components in real time.

Both. We select 2D for surface checks and alignment and 3D for depth, fit and robot guidance — based on your product and process requirements.
