Welding Robots

Automated welding delivers speed, safety and consistency — from precise TIG seams to tough MIG hardfacing — improving quality, reducing errors and extending the life of critical components.

Automation can transform a critical manufacturing process into a competitive advantage by delivering greater speed, precision and safety. Our advanced robotic welding systems span applications from TIG welding for hot water tanks to advanced MIG hardfacing for industrial shredder teeth. Each solution is engineered for consistency, durability and worker protection — delivering reliable performance and long-term ROI.

Automation elevates welding into a process defined by flawless, repeatable quality and greater speed. Our robotic welding solutions increase throughput, safeguard operators and apply proven expertise in TIG and MIG hardfacing to tackle complex manufacturing challenges.

A Proof of Concept enables manufacturers to validate weld quality, cycle times and robotic performance before investing in a full production system.

Expertise across welding applications

We create Special Purpose Machines for robotic welding applications, ensuring every weld is repeatable, accurate and meets stringent quality standards.

TIG welding leak-free reliability

Robotic TIG welding is known for producing clean, accurate and repeatable welds. We have designed and deployed welding solutions for both large residential hot water tanks and smaller instant hot water units commonly used in kitchens. Welding automation ensures leak-free welds that consistently meet quality standards, reducing defects and rework while increasing production efficiency.

MIG hardface welding for longer-lasting components

In industries where parts are subject to relentless wear and impact — such as waste recycling — robotic MIG welding offers durable hardfacing solutions. Some of our most advanced work has focused on automated repair systems for the heavy-duty teeth of industrial shredders, which run continuously and sustain wear beyond the parent metal. Automated MIG hardfacing restores parts quickly and accurately — extending their service life and reducing maintenance costs.

Intelligent hardfacing: the formula for a perfect repair

Our automated hardfacing process follows a precise, three-step formula that ensures every repair is rebuilt to its factory specifications:

  • Machine Vision Systems and 3D laser scanning create a detailed digital model of the worn shredder tooth geometry.
  • Algorithm-driven repair: this scan is then compared to the original 3D CAD specifications. Using AI, we analyse the delta to automatically generate the precise robotic pathways needed to rebuild the component
  • Robotic welding: the robot traces these pre-generated pathways to precisely apply the hardface weld material to deliver a consistent, high-quality repair.

Robots do the heavy lifting (and take the risk)

Welding is an inherently risky process with potential hazards, including exposure to heavy machinery, extreme heat, fumes and UV radiation. In applications such as shredder maintenance, robotic welding eliminates the need for operators to enter these hazardous environments, creating safer and healthier working conditions.

FAQs

Consistency. While TIG welding is known for its quality, fatigue can affect manual welders and compromise their repairs. Our robotic systems consistently deliver repeatable, high-quality welds, increasing throughput and reducing rework.

ROI is generally realised in a very short timeframe. Savings come from lower labour costs, reduced defects and less downtime. In heavy-wear applications, such as hardfacing, automation extends equipment life and avoids costly replacements, delivering long-term value.
